He was also a part of the Indian squad that won the World Championship of Cricket in 1985.
Roger made 211 against Kerala, sharing a record unbroken 451-run opening wicket partnership with Sanjay Desai in 1977/78. He had an indifferent Test debut against Pakistan in 1979 as he scored 46 in the first innings, but stayed wicketless throughout the match.
He played 27 tests and 72 ODIs at an average of 32.64 and 29.35 respectively
